For the nature enthusiasts, Donau-Auen National Park is the place to be. While the beauty of the 9,600-hectare landscape is enough to warrant a visit, the park offers a variety of tours to explore the largest natural riparian wetlands (those set on the banks of a river) in Central Europe and the many endangered plants and animals it is home to. It’s a green ribbon between the cities of Vienna and Bratislava and is vitally influenced by the practically free-flowing stretch of the river Danube that runs through it.
